About friction agent

Date of issue:2019-12-26 16:43
Friction agent is the main component of toothpaste. After repeated rubbing on the tooth surface with granular friction material, the substance attached to the object surface is removed.
The friction agent in the toothpaste is the main component of the toothpaste, which can make the plaque, soft dirt and food residue can be easily brushed off. The friction agent should have certain frictional action, but can not damage the tooth surface and periodontal tissue. Excessive particles of friction agent of inferior toothpaste, combined with improper brushing method, will cause damage to the tooth surface and teeth, therefore, should try to choose high-quality toothpaste and pay attention to the use of correct brushing method, so as to not only clean teeth and protect teeth from damage.
Classification of friction agents:
1. Calcium carbonate (CaCO3)
There are two kinds of calcium carbonate: heavy and light. Heavy calcium carbonate is made by crushing, grinding and refining limestone and calcite in rocks. Calcium carbonate is a calcium salt dissolved in hydrochloric acid, and then added carbon dioxide, calcium carbonate precipitation. Light calcium carbonate particles fine, light specific gravity, can be used in toothpaste.
2. Calcium hydrogen phosphate (calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate salt CaHPO4·2H2O and calcium hydrogen phosphate anhydrous salt CaHPO4)
Calcium hydrogen phosphate is divided into two kinds: dihydrate salt and anhydrous salt. Dihydrate salt and other ingredients have a good mixture, but because the hardness of anhydrous salt is high, the friction is strong, so in the special toothpaste to remove smoke trace, can be mixed with 5%~10% anhydrous salt.
3. Calcium pyrophosphate (Ca2P2O7)
Calcium pyrophosphate is obtained by treating calcium hydrogen phosphate at high temperature. Because it does not react with fluorinated compounds, it can be used as a base for fluorinated toothpaste.
4. Hydrated silicate (SiO2·nH2O)
Silicate hydrate is a very fine white particle that can be used in transparent toothpaste. In addition, because its specific volume is large, can be used as toothpaste increment agent and viscosifier.
5. Aluminum hydroxide (A1(OH)3)
Aluminum hydroxide particles are thicker, but does not damage the enamel, and can increase the brightness of the toothpaste, and has excellent teeth cleaning.
